Madagascar: General Jean Ravelonarivo appointed Prime Minister

Appointed last Wednesday by the President of Republic, Hery Rajaonarimampianina, the air commodore, Jean Ravelonarivo, is henceforth Prime Minister of the big island, reported our colleague from Africahotnews. He thus replaces the outgoing, Kolo Roger.

Jean Ravelonarivo is also the former governor of Rotary Club of Madagascar and the managing director of the real estate company, Seimad, managed by the government under Didier Ratsiraka’s regime.

The first lady, Voahangy Rajaonarimampianina, would heavily have influenced this choice. Josiane Ravelonarivo, the wife of the new Prime Minister would be in the first circle of friends of Voahangy Rajaonarimampianina.
