The Togolese will not be lacking food in 2015. Last year, the country registered food surplus. According to Togolese Minister for Agriculture, Ouro-Koura Agadazi, 156.000 tons of cereal, 745.000 tons of tubers and 136.000 tons of vegetables constitute the reserve of the country. A part of this surplus will be sold to the World Food Program (WFP), specified the Minister.

According to the Republic Of Togo site, the Minister noted weaknesses regarding the National Program for agricultural Investment and Food Safety (PNIASA) that represents the driving force for the boosting of the sector. Weaknesses essentially related to the implementation of the project but not the strategy on the whole.

Togo has registered excellent results on the agricultural plan since the creation of the ANSAT, a government agency placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture. It assures food safety and the protection of the producers against buyers and private speculators.
