Ahouré and Anthony Obame: honored by the Abdou Diouf Foundation

As announced by Africa Top Success last September, the Gabonese taekwondoka, Anthony Obame and the Ivorian athlete, Murielle Ahouré respectively received on Tuesday in Dakar, (Senegal) the Prize of Honor 2014 and the Prize for Excellence by the Abdou Diouf Sports Vertu Foundation.

It was during an awards ceremony enhanced by the presence of presidents Macky Sall and Abdou Diouf.

We should remind that Obame is a silver medalist of tae kwon do at the Olympics of London in 2012 whereas Ahouré is world double vice-champion (100 and 200 m) in Moscow (Russia) in 2013.

Bronze medalist at the last world championships in the discipline, the Senegalese, Balla Dièye received for her part, a Special prize.

This ceremony got the presence of numerous sports personalities among whom, the chairman of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Lamine Diack, the Ivorian, Didier Drogba, the Nigerian, Stephen Keshi and the Senegalese, El Hadj Malick Sy nicknamed Souris and Charles Wade (90-year-old and winner of the Cup of the French-speaking West Africa), were also rewarded for all works.

Created in 1988, the Foundation rewards every two years the best African sportsmen who have excelled themselves by their performances and their behavior also.

Icons of African and international sport, such as the Moroccans, Hicham El Guerrou and Nawal El Moutawakel, the Algerians, Nourredine Morceli and Hassiba Boulmerka, the Liberian, George Weah were mainly prize-winners in past of the Foundation that celebrated on Tuesday the 12th edition of its festival.
