Dangote and Al-Sissi: among the most powerful 100 world personalities

In its publication of last 5th November, the American magazine, Forbes, positions two Africans in the ranking of the most powerful world personalities.

It is namely about the Egyptian president, Abdel Fatah al-Sissi and the Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote.

With his crushing victory in the last Egyptian presidential election, with 96,2 % of the votes, Sissi stands in the 51st position in the ranking by Forbes.

The Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, stands for his part in the 68th position, with his fortune estimated at 25 billion dollars.

The title of the « most powerful world personality » went to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, who outstrips the United States president, Barack Obama.

We should note that it is the second consecutive year that the strong man of Kremlin tops this ranking.

For the magazine, the main required criterion remains the capacity of these personalities « to change the world, to make move peoples, markets or mentalities« .

Certain observers of the political life support that it is « the géopolitico-military activism » of the Russian president that contributed to move lines this year.

The Chinese president, Xi Jinping stand in the 3rd position whereas Pope Francis and the German chancellor, Angela Merkel complete the top five. The French president, François Hollande is 17th.

39 business managers and economic personalities also appear in this ranking. The most influential representative of the economic sphere is a woman; her name is Janet Yellen, the chairwoman of the American Central Bank.

The business managers who matter the most in the eyes of Forbes are: equally, Sergeï Brin and Larry Page, both co-founders of Google.

Abou Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader for the terrorist organization of the Islamic State, arrives for his part in the 53rd position over 72 personalities concerned by the ranking.

Among the 12 new entries in this ranking 2014, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, also appears in the 15th position and the founder of Alibaba & Chinois, the richest Jack My is 30th.

In this list of the most influential persons, 26 are American and 19 are native of Asia, among whom 6 from China.

9 women also appear in the ranking among whom the Frenchwoman, Christine Lagarde, the managing director of IMF who arrives 33rd.
