Excellence: Fatimata Dia joints the National Ordre of Québec

The Senegalese, Fatimata Dia, Manager of the Francophony Institute for Sustainable Development (IFDD), is raised to the rank of the Chevalier of the National Order of Quebec on Wednesday, 25th March 2015. Quebec thus appreciates the commitment of the Senegalese jurist in the field of the sustainable development and the fight against the global warming.

Fatimata Dia received her badge from the hands of the Prime Minister of Quebec, Philippe Couillard. The latter declared to be honored to welcome the Senegalese in the prestigious national order of Quebec.

« Quebec has found in her an ally of size in her will to take part in the works leading to the elaboration of various international agreements such as the Outline agreement of the United Nations on climate change. It is a real honor for us to welcome her within the Order« , declared Prime Minister Philippe Couillard.

Founded in 1984, the National Order of Quebec is the most prestigious recognition awarded by the State of Quebec. The members of the Order are eminent personalities who contributed to the construction of a creative, innovative and united company of Quebec. The Order counts 914 members among whom 853 personalities from Quebec and 61 foreigners, appointed in the rank of Grand Officer, Officer or Chevalier.
