The project of highway connecting Lagos to Abidjan means a lot to Nigeria. In the opening of the meeting of the steering committee of the aforementioned project in Cotonou, the Nigerian minister of the Public works, Mike Oziegbe Onolememen, reaffirmed the will of his country to invest 25 billion FCFA (50 million dollars) for the starting up of the works.

« Nigeria is ready to invest 50 million dollars for the realization of this project of highway Abidjan-Lagos while awaiting each of the five countries concerned by the corridor, brings their part of contribution. It participates in the fast evolution of the project« , indicated the representative of the Nigerian government during the meeting.

As a reminder, the highway will connect five capitals towns West Africa (Lagos, Cotonou, Lomé, Accra and Abidjan). The new infrastructure will have to facilitate the free circulation of people and goods and give a boost to the economy of the sub-region.

As Africa Top Success announced it earlier, the entrepreneur of Burkina Faso Saïdou Tiendrébéogo faced an important challenge in order be given the realization of a part of the work (20 km) while big multinationals are jostling to win the offer.
