How to make more Senegalese participate in Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI 2015)? That is the concern of the Senegalese authorities who multiply meetings of awareness-raising and sharing of experience in order to enlist more young leaders for this program.

According to Amadou Moctar Sidibe, one of 17 participants in YALI 2014, « it is important to share our experience with interested people and draw the attention of those who are not because we know how much this program is important« , he underlined

« Several people are interested in this program but they much wonder about at the same time. We thus try by this meeting to enlighten them so that they know what really waits for them, what to do, what they will gain in committing to this project« , added for his part, Sobel Aziz Ngom, another participant.

Set up by the American president, Barack Obama, this program is intended to train young leaders in the domains of government services, companies, entrepreneurship and leadership.

« It is one more reason to launch in this perspective« , according to Ndèye Awa Guèye, who also took part in the program this year.

« It is an important initiative that can change the vision of things in Senegal and in Africa, strengthen our capacities and develop our local organizations. We have to send the maximum of young people« , she esteemed.

For Tchegoun Adebo Koba, another Senegalese representative, « this experience allows an international exhibition. It is a question of acting locally while thinking globally and the youth is the solution to the contemporary challenge of our societies« .

YALI program that registered 500 African young people this year, plans to double this number by 2016.
