She was revealed in 2014 during the African business managers’ forum « AFRICA CEO Forum ». Prize-winner of the trophy, « Business manager of the year », the South African, Daphne Mashile-Nkos, is listed in the category of « the African woman of the year » for Africa Top Success Awards.

Daphne Mashile-Nkos is a part of the rare women to operate in the mining sector in Africa. She is the unique lady up to date to hold an executive position in the domain.

Daphne Mashile-Nkosi (55 years old) is at the head of the Kalagadi Manganese, a company specialized in the exploitation of manganese. The production capacity of her company is estimated at 2,3 million tons. Daphne Mashile-Nkosi plans to reach 12 billion rands of turnover in 2014 with a staff composed at 50 % of women.

The former human rights activist reconverted into businesswoman believes in the development of the northern part of South Africa. « It is not normal that the region of the Northern Cape is one of the richest and registers at the same time a very high poverty rate« , she had declared.

For this purpose, Daphne Mashile-Nkosi opts for a local processing of a part of the exploitation of her company by a South African foundry.

In 2010, Daphne Nkosi escaped from a putsch attempt at the head of Kalagadi Manganese from one of the shareholders. She managed to stay at the head of the company.

In 2014, her company should realize about 12 billion rands of turnover with the aim of using 50 % of women.
