Ivory Coast can be proud of its daughters for their honor during the 17th edition of CAMES (African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education) aggregation competition in Medicine.
The results released last Monday in Yaoundé, Cameroon listed twelve (12) female prize-winners presented by Félix Houphouët-Boigny and Alassane Ouattara Universities.
These twelve women arise from the following specialities: dental biomaterials; maxillofacial prostheses; public health preventive medicine option; psychiatry; ophthalmology; neurosurgical anatomy; plastic and reconstructive surgery; pediatric surgery; neurology; medical pediatrics; physiology and public health and economy of health.
Globally, the 17th edition of CAMES got an official success rate of 84 % over 191 applications.
According to the general supervisor of CAMES 2014, Pr. Charles Gombe Mbalawa this rate is considered as « the highest » since the organization of this aggregation competition.
The Agreement carrying status and organization of CAMES was signed by sixteen 16 heads of States and Governments on 26th April 1972 in Lomé, Togo.
CAMES account 19 countries today: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central Republic of Africa, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal and Togo.
