Erasmus Mundus Project: 11 Togolese students going to study in Europe

The Erasmus Mundus project by the European Union offering opportunities to students of Africa, Caribbean and pacific (ACP) to continue their studies in Europe, made lucky winners in Togo, an example of human type partnership between the European Union and these countries.

As far as Togo is concerned for the academic year 2014/2015, over 11 profitable students, 8 have refugee’s status settled down in Togo.

« They were mainly selected on the basis of their academic excellence; thus they are an investment for future« , indicated Nicolas Berlanga Martinez, the leader of the delegation of the EU in Togo.

« These 11 students are an example of partnership that is not exclusively built on interest but on people, knowing that education and mutual knowledge strengthen the possibilities of building a better world for all », he added.

The project aims at developing the university cooperation by the training of teachers and students in the domains of scientific, technological and professional education.

The specific objectives of the program are to contribute to the mutual enrichment of societies by developing qualifications of men and women so that they acquire an international experience and competence adapted to job market, to promote the mobility of students, researchers, teachers and administrative staff of the third countries selected on the basis of their academic excellence so that they can obtain qualification and/or an experience in Europe
