Ivory Coast: Nestlé launching Healthy Kids program

In order to support the governmental strategy: « school, friend of nutrition« , Nestlé Côte d’Ivoire launched on Thursday in Abidjan « Nestlé Healthy Kids » program in partnership with the Ministry of Health and fight against AIDS (STD) and the Ministry of Education and technical training (MENET).

This program by Nestlé has for objective to allow children of school age to live a healthy life by offering them the opportunity to adopt, very early, good food habits and to understand the importance of physical exercises.

« Nestlé launched the Healthy Kids program worldwide by working closely with local partners to adapt it to the needs of every country. We are happy to implement it in Ivory Coast and we so renew our commitment to work for health, nutrition and well-being of populations« , explained Mauricio Alarcon, Managing director for Nestlé Côte d’Ivoire.

The importance of taking fruits and vegetables, having well-balanced meals at indicated times, practising physical activity and also respecting regulations of food and physical hygiene.

For the experimental phase the first year, five public schools will benefit from this program. They are public primary school (EPP) of Marcory (Abidjan), EPP of South Cocody (Abidjan), Amélékia II School complex (Abengourou), EPP Manhounou (Daloa) and EPP Téhiri Davo (Gagnoa).
