The Ivorian Head of State, Alassane Ouattara, was received on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia by the Imam of the Holy Mosque of Mecca.
According to an information note from the Ivorian presidency, on his arrival last Tuesday in Mecca, President Alassane Ouattara « went to the Holy Mosque for the prayer of Magrib (prayer of 6:00 pm) ».
He was then received by Sheik Abdrahaman Soudaïs, Imam of the Masjid Al-Haram, (the sacred mosque of Mecca) and manager of both Holy Mosques of Medina and Makkah.
During their meeting, Imam Abdrahaman was delighted to meet « the Statesman » who is President Alassane Ouattara, underlined this note, adding that he said « to be very admiring of Ivory Coast and wished to go there soon« .
« The meeting came to an end by the blessings for Ivory Coast, the President of the Republic and the whole delegation that followed him« , concluded the information note from the Ivorian presidency.
The last day of this official visit in Saudi Arabia that started on Monday in Ryad, was dedicated to Jeddah and Medina.
In the Saudi economic capital town, Jeddah, Alassane Ouattara met the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB).
Mr. Ouattara who was back to Abidjan on Wednesday evening, also visited the Holy Mosque of Medina.
