The Ivorian ministry of economic Infrastructures granted to the consortium managed by Louis Berger, a building work supervision contract for 1.65 million euros or 1.76 million dollars financed by the debt paydown and development program of the French Agency of Development (AFD) for Ivory Coast.

The consortium will supervise the construction of a road of 45 kilometers (28 miles) connecting Ferkessédougou, the second city in the North of Ivory Coast, to Ouangolodougou, city situated in the North of the country near the border with Burkina Faso. The works will also concern the rehabilitation of various crossroads.

« When it finishes, this road will allow the local producers transporting their products to the market more quickly and in better conditions« , declared Jean-Pierre Dupacq, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, in charge of Louis Berger’s operations in Africa. « This road, that will allow connecting Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Mali, will generate new trade in the region and important economic benefits. »

With more than 50 years of experience in Africa, Louis Berger has been working for 20 years in Ivory Coast and carried out 15 projects concerning wide range services in the sectors of agriculture and transport.
