Africa Top Success Ils font l'Afrique
Africa Top Success reported it that Abidjan will host from 9th to 12th April, the very first edition of Abi-Reggae, the international festival of Reggae music. The event will be sponsored by Bongo Pascaline Mferri Bongo, the elder sister of the president of the Republic of Gabon, Ali Bongo. The lady is crazy about reggae.
The choice of the Gabonese is not for granted. Pascaline Mferri Bongo several times collaborated with Bob Marley and has even appeared in the documentary « Marley-The definitve history » by Kévin MacDonald.
« She listened to us and then, she started talking over and over again. She tackled the questions on her relation with Bob Marley that I shall not reveal here. In the end, she agreed to be the sponsor« , declared the Ivorian minister, Dosso Moussa initiator of the event.
In addition to the festive side of the shows by international stars as the Ivorian, Alpha Blondy, the Ghanaian, Kojo Antwi or Jamaican mythical groups and artists as Third World (Jamaica), Morgan Heritage or Ky-Mani, one of the sons of the icon of reggae, Bob Marley, an international colloquium will gather several university leading experts, historians and sociologists as the Cameroonian, Elikia M’Bokolo, the Ivorian, Yacouba Konaté, the Jamaican, Horace Campbell …
