Initially planned for this Thursday, « Peace evening » will finally be held on next 18th December; and this time, it is not because of Ebola as it was the case for several other events postponed or simply cancelled in the country.
The organizers intend to honor the memory of dozens deaths registered in Burkina Faso during the popular uprising occurred at the end of October 2014.
« The postponement of the event is logical because connected to a sensibility and patriotism matter« , supported the promoter of the cultural event, Théodore Bamogo well known under his artist name of Bamos Theo (photo).
« While the dead persons are not even buried yet, it would not be good to organize a merry-making event, though it is for peace« , he justified.
The latter specified that it is a postponement and not a cancellation of the « Peace evening« .
He specified that the evening will take place on 18th December in the theater of the Small Business International Fair of Ouagadougou (SIAO) and not in Ouaga 2000 as planned.
The show is initiated in order to contribute to calm down the social tension between the various social components in Burkina Faso then divided on the referendum question and the revision of the article 37.
These tensions almost disappeared with the resignation of President Blaise Compaoré, raised the initiator of the event.
