Dangote Cement Cameroon, the Cameroonian subsidiary of the Dangote Industries group will start its activities in this January 2015. After several aborted launching, the cement works just acquired raw materials necessary for the starting up of its activities.

According to the APA agency, it is essentially about clinker, gypsum, as well as pozzolana, produced from a quarry of 27 hectare situated in the locality of Tombel, South-west region of Cameroon, a quarry on which Dangote Cement Cameroon holds an operation approval for a renewable period of five years.

Later, the company will have an annual production of 1,5 million tons. The investments in this project are estimated at 50 billion FCFA. As Africa Top Success reported it earlier, the success of the Dangote cement works even worries multinationals.

In July 2014, in order to face the competition, the French group, Lafarge bought back the shares of companies, Ashaka Cement, Atlas Cement and Unicem and has become Lafarge Africa.
