The towns of Bobo Dioulasso and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) will welcome, from 25th April to 3rd May 2014, the 22nd edition of Jazz in Ouaga, the festival that garthers lovers of this musical genre every year in this country.
About fifteen artists coming from Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast, DR of Congo, France, the USA and Sweden are awaited at this cultural appointment of which reputation is known beyond Africa. At the end of the festival, it is planned on 10th May, Prize-winners evening Sax of Gold and Silver for Jazz-performance 2014 in order to reward the best artists.
Apart from Jazz concerts in Ouaga, it will be also jam sessions, conferences, training courses opened to music business (musicians, singers, sound technicians,…) with Masterclasses.
« It is a remarkable event because it is the festival of artists coming from everywhere but there are also educational sections« , asserted Marine Leloup, director of French institute of Ouaga, partner of the festival.
At first, Jazz in Ouaga was an association created in 1992 by Jazz lovers. Its objective is to value this music arisen from Black exile that becomes universal today.
