Things went so fast on Wednesday, 20th August in the Mauritanian governmental team.

One hour after the dismissal of Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, the Mauritanian president, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz appointed a new Prime Minister in the person of Yahya Ould Hademine (picture).

Engineer by training, Yahya Ould Hademine especially made career in public mining company that exploits iron in Mauritania (the Industrial and Mining National Company, SNIM).

« He climbed levels as engineer until managing two sectors of the SNIM before being appointed Minister about three years ago. He is native of the same region as the outgoing Prime Minister« , declared on RFI, Moussa Ould Hamed, director of the Mauritanian political newspaper « Biladi« .

The former Prime Minister has been serving since the coming to power of the president Aziz in 2008.

The latter, having presented his dismissal to the head of State and as usual, he wished success to the next team.

Reelected in June with about 82 % of the votes during a ballot boycotted by a big part of the opposition, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz took an oath on 2nd August 2014 for his second mandate of five years, promising to continue to fight against « terrorism« .
