The Liberian authorities intend to put an end to the Ebola virus that has been ravaging the country for several months.

Last Monday at a church of New Georgi, a district of the suburb of Monrovia, the president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf launched the « Ebola must disappear » initiative.

On this occasion, the Head of State appealed to all Liberians to unite their forces and take community initiatives for the eradication of the Ebola fever that continues its devastation in the country.

« The of community leaders should continue working with the populations in order to identify as fast as possible the sick persons so that they can be treated in time« , Mrs. Johnson moreover declared.

« Government will support the communities throughout the country in order to bring them the necessary help until the eradication of Ebola« , assured President Sirleaf.

She also invited the Liberians to take a new commitment to serve the nation, their communities and their friends, by protecting themselves and acting so that the Ebola virus is eliminated at all costs.

Let us remind that the disease has caused more than 7 000 deaths in some regions of West Africa since the first case reported in Guinea in December 2013.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this epidemic is the most important of the continent; it mainly affects Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
