Against Boko Haram: Dangote aims at investing 2,3 billion USD in the north of Nigeria

Scene of numerous attacks attributed to the terrorist group Boko Haram since numerous months, the North of Nigeria could soon get stability.

 

The wealthiest Nigerian Aliko Dangote, intends to invest 2,3 billion dollars in this region of the country to counter the terrorist group.

 

The billionaire announced his intention during the World Economic Forum on Africa which was held in Abuja.

 

According to the latter, these funds will be pumped into sugar and rice production in this region where Boko Haram is severely acting.

 

For Aliko Dangote, the region needs investment and job creation to be able to reconstruct and stop poverty and counter Islamist uprising.

 

He underlined that attacks made numerous deaths and the recent kidnapping of hundreds school girls plunged the region into the fear and the paralysis.

 

Moreover, Dangote declared that he would invest 16 billion dollars in Africa during the next four years among which 14 billion will be assigned to his country.

 

Aliko Dangote is a Nigerian businessman. He is also the the richest man in Africa according to the last ranking of Forbes magazine brought out last March. His fortune was estimated at 24,5 billion dollars.
