Ivory Coast: Prize for scientific research 2014 launched

The Ivory Coast government incites its researchers to innovation. The Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Gnamien Konan proceeded on Friday, 25th July to the launching of the edition 2014 of the scientific research Prize. The ceremony was placed under the theme: « the new dynamics of researchers’ merit« .

This year, seven domains of researches are targeted by the prize. They are exact sciences, health sciences, agronomic sciences, legal, natural and zootechnic sciences, human sciences and letters, sciences and food technologies and inventions and technological innovations sciences. Prize-winners of every domain will get an envelope of 5 million FCFA in addition to the diploma.

The Ivory Coast Minister for Higher Education invited his colleagues to massively participate in the competition to assure growth and development of the country. « Search, find, innovate. Find things that were not it in food yet or the use of chemicals that is in fact a danger for human being, in health where new diseases appear every day, in the energy to find new sources« , declared Gnamien Konan.

The scientific research Prize created in 1995 rewards inventors, researchers and the teachers-researchers whose recent works, published on accessible scientific supports, widen the dimensions of the universal scientific knowledge and participate in a significant way in the economic, social and cultural development of the nation.
