Gabon: 5000 young people benefit from «Train My Generation»

The last edition of New York Forum Africa held in Gabon bear fruit. According to the on-line newspaper Gabonreview.com, the mobile telephony company, Airtel Gabon and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (Unesco) ratified in Paris, an agreement concerning the training of 5000 young Gabonese in the sector of ICTS (Information and Communication Technologies).

Sponsored during the third New York Forum Africa, held in May 2014 in Libreville (Gabon), « Train My Generation » concept that aims at taking African youth out of poverty, rushes to the rescue of 5000 young Gabonese. The agreement occurred between Airtel Gabon and Unesco covering a period of 3 years. Only young people from 18 to 35 years old can benefit from trainings.

Thanks to the deposit for 4,3 million dollars, the first stage will consist in the creation of cyber-centers equipped with servers and computers in schools of Libreville, Port-Gentil, Oyem, Bitam, Franceville and Lambaréné according to Gabonreview.

100 teachers in sciences of Secondary schools will also receive on-line training. They will moreover use their skills to supply on-line assistance to 15 000 pupils of secondary schools preparing their final examinations, specified the source.
